Our loved one, Danny Cupit, was diagnosed in July 2024 with bulbar onset ALS. He/we have been blessed with the help of Team Gleason from the get-go.
They have provided everything from medical mobility appliances, smart home equipment to help Danny maintain as much independence as possible.
This has definitely improved his quality of life for the better.
Later we submitted an application for a Team Gleason Adventure and was grateful to have been blessed with a bucket list trip to Lake Tahoe.
Danny has always dreamed of a trip like this and we as a family decided to join him and his wife Susan on their adventure.
Things didn’t go as planned, no fault of anyone, but illness struck Danny soon after we arrived in Lake Tahoe.
He spent his time at Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Mountain in the hospital.
The hospital care he received from Barton Memorial Hospital was the best we could’ve ever asked for.
Unfortunately, his trip “Up to the Mountain” didn’t go as planned but we were blessed to be able to spend some quality family time in this beautiful, peaceful surrounding with him and Susan. We definitely felt Gods presence on Heavenly Mountain.
Danny did get to see the snow and the mountainous views in our travel up and down the mountain during transit.
Some of us were able to enjoy an awesome concert performance by the great Aaron Lewis (Staind) “American As It Gets Tour” in Reno.
We videoed and took pics as we channeled Danny and Susan at the hospital.
Thank you Team Gleason for providing this amazing trip! We’re truly grateful ❤️
