Not every adventure requires a long flight or multi-day road trip. They can happen much closer to home. Rhoda was raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and absolutely loves her rural town. Her daughter, Natalie, reached out to Team Gleason so that they could experience it in a brand-new way on a private tour with Strasburg Scooter Tours.
Here’s what Rhoda and Natalie had to say after their tour:
What was your favorite part of the Adventure?
We enjoyed making memories together. It was fun being able to play tourist in our own town. Traveling all of the back roads of Lancaster County and admiring the beautiful view. We have watched the scooter tours happen in our town and it was so much fun to be the ones on the scooters!
What was the most memorable part of the Adventure?
Stopping at a local ice cream shop to get some treats mid-ride was definitely the favorite part. Even though it was cold out, the ice cream still tasted terrific. We made sure mom was bundled and warm so she could also enjoy a cold treat :)
Did you face any challenges? How were you able to overcome them?
We did not face any challenges during our adventure. Everything was very seamless and accommodating.
What did this trip mean to you?
We are very grateful that we got to do something together that we had never done before. We are thankful for the experience we would have otherwise not been able to have if Team Gleason hadn’t helped us have the adventure.
How was the accessibility on your adventure?
The accessibility was great. There were no issues with wheelchair navigation or getting mom in and out of the scooter.
What advice would you have for someone else going on a similar adventure?
Have fun and dress warm! Be in the moment and take in your surroundings!
