This trip was so meaningful and a blessing to me and my family. It was not originally planned to be a Christmas trip, but God’s timing is always perfect.

With this horrible disease it takes all the fun out of life if you let it. It’s a daily battle to care about anything.

So, this adventure put the fun back into my life. It put the magic and sparkle back.

Seeing all the wonderful awesome lights and hearing the Christmas songs, made me feel like a child again and having my precious little granddaughter with me was truly magical.

The DreamMore resort was so accommodating, and the van picking us up made it so much easier on my husband. Thank you for everything.

What was your favorite part of the Adventure?

  • Being with my family and especially my granddaughter every day and seeing the excitement she had at the park with the lights.

Did you face any challenges during the Adventure?

  • Yes, due to the time of year we visited. It was cold weather, and the temperature really dropped as the sun went down. To combat the cold, we brought my heated blanket with a portable power bank. We also utilized hot hands.

What was the most memorable part of this Adventure?

  • We have never been to Dollywood for Christmas, this is something I have always wanted to do. Experiencing Christmas and seeing the excitement my granddaughter had will be a memory I will never forget.

What does this Adventure mean to you?

  • It meant everything to me. It was a trip of lifetime for me. It will be a memory I cherish every time I think of Christmas.

Can you share anything about the accessibility during your adventure, either good or bad?

  • The DreamMore Resort provided a bus that cycled every 30 min and would take you to the park free of charge. It had a lift system on the bus and I never had to even get out of my power chair. I would have not been able to do the trip without my Team Gleason power chair.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

  • I would highly recommend this trip for anyone with any disability. The DreamMore Resort along with Dollywood both were very kind and very accessible.
