Recently, Team Gleason joined together with the Edward Jones branch located in Anchorage, Alaska, to work on a special project for the ALS caregiving community. Ryan Kapp and Cassie Miller, financial advisers with Edward Jones, reached out to create a service project to benefit Team Gleason in honor of their friend and colleague, Wes Roberts. Wes was diagnosed with ALS in April 2020 with bulbar onset ALS. A lifelong Minnesota wild fan, Wes was gifted a custom Minnesota Wile branded power wheelchair from Numotion.

Wes, who recently lost his battle with ALS, was deeply loved throughout his hometown and the Edward Jones community. In his honor, the Edward Jones team and their spouses came together for a station-wide meeting where they packed care packages to be distributed to ALS caregivers.

Team Gleason arranged for more than 30 care packages to be distributed to caregivers of ALS patients. Working directly with the persons living with ALS, Team Gleason had the packages shipped to caregivers as a fun surprise! The care packages included numerous goodies from local Anchorage businesses, including Alaskan honey, a packet of seeds for Alaska’s state flower, the Forget-Me-Not, local snacks, face masks and soaps, and much more.

We are grateful to the Edward Jones community for seeing the value in the selfless work that caregivers do on a daily basis. We are overjoyed for the opportunity to give back to a community of people who sacrifice so much for their loved ones.

Check out the smiles these care packages brought!
