My husband, a lifelong Saints fan, has always wanted to bring our son to a Saints game.
When we heard about the Team Gleason experience, going to a Saints game was a no brainer.
We went to the Aquarium and Insectarium on Saturday and had a nice dinner.
We attended the Saints game on Sunday.
By far, our favorite part of the adventure was the Saints game, which the Saints won!
There was a fun filled halftime show with multiple trips to the concession stand.
My husband and son truly enjoyed the experience, I’m so glad they were able to live out this dream together.
Our biggest challenge involved uncontrollable circumstances with the weather. We planned on walking to the stadium, but Mother Nature had other ideas for us. With Brandon’s eye gaze being exposed to the rain, as well as his new power chair, I opted to drive the stadium instead. And of course, faced traffic, no parking left in the ADA garage, and then $60 parking fees. But we prevailed and enjoyed the game, nonetheless.
I think my biggest concern was the lack of electrical outlets in the Superdome in the ADA section. They were at each end of the seating section; however we were seated in the middle of the section. Brandon has 2 pieces of equipment that need to stay charged, so that was something that I had to navigate. I realize that has nothing to do with Team Gleason but maybe consider electrical equipment abs try to sit near outlets. All the other stadiums we’ve been to have outlets at every 3rd seat. Something to think about.
