On the other side of every box in our office is an individual who is about to experience the freedom of independent mobility once again, just like our friends, Harry and Janeice R. from Pueblo West, Colorado:
Life had become increasingly difficult for the married couple after Harry’s ALS diagnosis. At 72 years old, Janeice struggled to move her husband through their small, carpeted home. Without a powered wheelchair chair, he couldn’t leave the house, and the isolation was taking a toll. “He just sat… getting more and more depressed. After 54 years of marriage, seeing him so confined was crushing. He was a rancher most of his life, and not being able to go outside was devastating.”
Everything changed when Team Gleason provided him a portable power wheelchair.
“This chair has changed his outlook, and honestly, I believe it has prolonged his life. He can now get out on the dirt road on our 1400-acre ranch, move with more ease and peace of mind, and conserve his energy. He uses it exclusively now.
