Application Portal FAQs
Team Gleason’s application portal is designed to make requesting services easier, clearer, and more accessible for individuals and families affected by ALS. This system improves how applications are submitted, tracked, and reviewed—allowing us to better support our community with greater transparency and efficiency.
Please watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on how to create your account and review the FAQs for important information about using the portal and what to expect during the application process.
Will I need an account to use the new portal?
Yes. The new portal requires you to create a secure login tied to your email address. This helps protect your information and allows you to track your application and appointments more easily.
Who can create a portal login and submit applications for services?
Only people living with ALS or their primary care partners can create a secure portal login.
Why can’t other people create a log in or submit applications anymore?
While these individuals often act with good intentions, applications submitted by third parties have led to:
- Requests made without the person living with ALS knowing
- Requests for services the individual did not want or need
- Delays caused by staff having to confirm information
- Duplicate applications tied to different email addresses
What if someone wants to help a person living with ALS apply?
Friends, clinicians, and community members are encouraged to support the person living with ALS or their care partner by helping them complete the application, but the secure account must belong to the person receiving services or their designated care partner.
What if I am a friend/community member and want to learn more about your services?
We welcome friends, supporters, and community members to learn more about Team Gleason’s mission and impact. Please visit our pALS Resource Page.
Will this make the process of getting services harder?
No. In fact, it will reduce delays, prevent repeated requests for confirmation, and help Team Gleason staff respond more quickly and accurately.
How do I log in to the new portal?
People living with ALS with an open case within the past year will receive an email on January 20 with an invitation code and instructions to log in.
What if I am new or haven’t submitted an application in the past year?
You will be able to sign up for an account using our new Application Portal.
What if I get an error when I am logging into the portal?
If you receive an error when logging into the portal, please submit a General Inquiry for Application Assistance.
What can I see once I am in the portal?
At this time, you will be able to:
- Submit an application for services
- Update your profile information
- View the status of your application
- View previous applications
- View previous and upcoming appointments
Will I need to fill out the full application every time?
No. After the initial application, returning users will have key information pre-populated when filling out a new application. This shortens future application submissions.
What if I already have an open application with Team Gleason?
If you have an ongoing case:
- You will receive an email explaining how to log into the portal. It will include an invitation code and a link to the new application portal.
- The new application portal simply makes it easier to track and manage requests going forward.
- Our team will continue supporting your current application request.
Why can only people living with ALS or their care partners create a portal account?
To protect privacy and make sure services are requested intentionally. Secure applications must be submitted by the person living with ALS or their care partner. You are welcome to support them in completing the application.
Can I communicate directly with my Team Gleason Staff through the portal?
Not in this phase. At launch, the portal is focused on:
- Application submission
- Application Status visibility
- Appointment information
Additional communication features may be explored in future phases.
Is anything changing about eligibility or services?
No. The new application portal changes how applications are submitted and managed. Not who is eligible or what services are available.
How can I get help using the portal?
If you are having issues with the application portal, please submit a General Inquiry for Application Assistance and a Team Gleason staff member will contact you for assistance.
Why is Team Gleason making this change?
This update will help:
- Reduce the amount of information you need to re-enter for future requests
- Allow you to log in and see your application status
- Provide clearer visibility into appointments and next steps
- Help Team Gleason process requests more efficiently and accurately
